I was shooting meddling with the video capacities of my X-T1 recently, and found that it automatically adjusted its settings in order to keep exposure constant.Shooting with both ISO and shutter at 'A', and manual aperture adjustment, I figured the camera must be adjusting ISO or shutter speed. However, the display does not display the actual values for those parameters while recording, nor do I know a way to force it to do so. I also do not know whether that information can be retrieved using some program.I do know that, once you start recording with your shutter speed dial set to a fixed speed, you cannot change it while recording. That leads me to conclude that the camera automatically adjusts the ISO in order to compensate for changing exposure...On the other hand, when I fixate ISO and leave shutter speed on automatic, the camera continues to appear to stabilize exposure, which I could only be doing by adjusting the 'shutter speed'. I tested this by looking at the 'brightness' of the screen while zooming (which, as my aperture decreased a full stop across the zoom range, should have had my visible exposure drop as well). That suggests that the camera does change its 'shutter speed' while recording video.Or is my test inadequate? Is a mere stop change in EV not visible enough to acknowledge by looking at the camera's display? The effect of playing with the aperture, and the consequent behaviour of the camera is as follows: - with both ISO and shutter on automatic, exposure only starts changing at f16 - with ISO fixed and shutter automatic, it takes a stop and a half before the exposure changes (suggesting an slight adjustment of shutter during those first moments) - with ISO and shutter fixed, immediate visible changes in exposure as I adjust aperture. Can anyone clarify this? via /r/photography http://ift.tt/2gUxlNb
