Bought a manfrotto mvh502ah fluid head, with a tripod that was offered with it. Now realizing they were not compatible.

I've had a frustrating 6 months with this thing, as the head was always coming loose. The screw on the tripod base just sits right against the fluid heads aluminum ring. And scrapes. The thing is, these are sold as a duo through nearly every website. B&h. Amazon etc. http://ift.tt/2uLy6eC happily get a new tripod. And all of my googling has not helped me.
