Issue with street photography and missing shots

Hey everyone. I started taking street photography pretty seriously in January of this year. I've come a long way, but there are still plenty of issues that I'm ironing out.I'm having this issue where I'll walk by someone or something (let's say I've walked five feet away) and I'm like, "Oh shit...I should go back to take a pic." But when I turn around it's either A. The person saw me, B. The person will see me if I go back, or C. The scene changed. It seems to happen whenever I go out to purposefully shoot street.I've been getting better at getting closer to people and not caring as much if I am seen. I mitigate this by photographing people in busy shops, at festivals, and people on the subway when I'm on the platform. Basically, people who are too busy to care.Yet there are plenty of things that I missed because I've noticed a photo opportunity after I've walked by.Finally, I've told myself plenty of times that "there are other shots," and I try to not that get to me. But I also think about what could have been...(stares off into the distance).Any recommendations? Should I think five feet ahead when I walk? Or what about letting the shots come to me? via /r/photography http://ift.tt/2vopbS2
