Hey, /r/photography! I've been planning to upgrade from a d3200 to a d7500 for some time now, and earlier today had the opportunity to take a 7500 out for a test-drive at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. I had an amazing time with it but when the time came to transfer my files, I was dismayed to discover that my computer's current photos app can't open or handle the .NEF files from the 7500. This kinda pisses me off, because I also used a d750 today and the photos from that one open up just fine on my computer (a surface Pro 4).I did a little research and it led me to understand that sometimes computer software has some catch-up to do when there's new software on cameras, but the d7500 has already been out for nearly six months now, so you'd think the software support would already exist.Other than just sorting through my photos using Lightroom (the solution I found today) are there other cheap/free alternatives to the Windows 10 photo app that can support the .NEF files from the 7500? via /r/photography http://ift.tt/2wUfc9B
