Hi all,I have a few questions related to infrared photography/imaging. Any help is much appreciated! What is the difference between converting a DSLR to only shoot infrared (ie removing the filter(s) over the sensor) and a thermal imaging infrared camera? Is there anyway of capturing thermal information with a DSLR sensor? It’s a bit of a weird scenario - I have I have been tasked with taking photographs of surface cracking of cast concrete walls. The cracking is visible. Lighting is poor - I will be using a remotely triggered flash.Would there be any benefit in converting a DSLR to capture full spectrum/infrared?If you converted to full spectrum, can you extract infrared from a RAW image file? Or would it just be an effect/filter similar to infrared images?Would a conversion help with contrast between concrete and cracks?Would a conversion help with the poor lighting conditions? Many thanks! via /r/photography https://ift.tt/2vK4dyp
