I am an amateur photographer in college. I post my photos on a business account on Instagram in hopes of getting more exposure. Right now it is just a hobby for me, but (as probably anyone would like) I'd love to eventually get good enough to make it a side job.So I recently did a free photo shoot for a fitness coach that I met on Instagram, for the purpose of getting portrait practice as well as the exposure of her sharing my tagged pictures on her page. She loved the photos, and is now asking how much I would charge for an hour or two to do individual and team dance photos for her college dance team, that she is the treasurer of. Problem is, I have literally no idea of how to assess how much my skills are worth. I've never had a paying client before, and I just want to make sure that I don't overcharge and lose the chance, or undercharge and underestimate myself. It would be about $25 worth of gas just driving back and forth, but I am assuming that generally doesn't factor into the price. It would be about 10 people, and I have a 50mm prime lens, and a flash gun I like to use for portraits, if that helps.Has anyone been in a similar situation and what do you think I should do? via /r/photography https://ift.tt/2OC3ab5
