I'm about to completely revamp my photo storage and workflow and I could really use some advice.

I photograph as a creative passion and hobby and have been shooting on a Canon T6i since 2016. For my first ~2 years of shooting, I have carried my camera almost everywhere, taken lots of photos, and (about once a month) dumped them into my Mac "Photos" app which is stored on an external Seagate drive. I shoot RAW. I have just over 25,000 lifetime photos currently stored in my external Photos library, separated into monthly "smart albums" by date of capture. As I become more serious about photography, I'm planing to buy a Lightroom subscription and move all of my photos out of the Apple Photos app and into folders/Lightroom. I would love some advice on how to best set myself up for optimal workflow and access in the future.I am a little stumped on how to begin. Here are my few questions:Where should I keep my images? Should I export my Photos app "smart folders" (separated by month) into normal monthly folders stored on the external drive, and access those folders through Lightroom?Should I export/store photos as CR2 or PNG files? Or something else?Is there a way to export all of my monthly albums at once onto the external drive?Thank you for any help and feedback! I really appreciate it. via /r/photography https://ift.tt/2KVXuqd
