The huge price gap of film development services

Local store down the road charges 3,5€.Big store in the city center charges 5€.Darkroom owned by an old man who's been doing it for his whole life charges 7€.All of these are the same regardless of the film's number of exposures.Only the last one develops film in-house, the other two ship the rolls to specialized labs.I got rolls developed from each one (cheap film) and I can't see much of a difference, in fact if you hold two prints side by side you wouldn't be able to tellWhy is there such a price gap? Is it the same where you live? Also, do you think it'd be worth it to spend more if I had better film? via /r/photography https://ift.tt/2pQakhe
