I've just purchased my first every prime lens, it's a Canon 50mm 1.8 STM, what are your wonderful opinions?

I apoligize if this question seems a bit common, but i'd really appreciate some feedback.I've been looking through a lot of articles over the past few days to see what the next best step in improving my not-so amazing setup would be; after some research I decided that purchasing a prime lens was probably a good start, due to it's higher quality compared to my standard 18-55mm lens that came with my Canon EOS 4000D.What are some good points to note down or tips to know in order to achieve some great captures with this 50mm STM lens?Thank you.Edit: First Ever Prime Lens\* via /r/photography https://ift.tt/2ON96xm
