Thoughts on the growing relationship between blogging and photography.

I’m noticing more and more these days that photographers are incorporating blogging into their business. Essentially photographers are becoming bloggers. I mostly see this with family and wedding photographers.I’m going to try to not sound negative or judgmental, but I don’t really know how to voice my opinion on this topic without potentially coming off that way. So just bare with me!Example: photographer shoots a wedding, writes up a big blog post about said couple and wedding and fills it with love, cute sayings, etc. I can only imagine the effort that they put into the blog, because usually they look pretty darn good (however, I never really read it. Just look at the photos).Personally, I’m not a fan. I’m a photographer because I love taking photographs. When people visit my website, I want them to see my photos and learn about my photos and/or me, not the couple/family I photographed. I know that journalism is essentially what I’m complaining about. But I love photojournalism, don’t love blogging. Not the same in my opinion.Couple questions: - Does anyone actually read those blogs? - Photographers, if you write said blogs, does it pay off? Why do you do it?Just my two cents. Would love to hear some thoughts from those who view these blogs differently than I do.Cheers via /r/photography http://bit.ly/2WxHx09
