My boss handed me six boxes of film she claims have vinegar syndrome. I'm seeing nothing and smelling nothing that would indicate they're deteriorating. I'm concerned because she says that after we archive all of this stuff, we have to toss all of the scanners used for this process because it can apparently cross-contaminate other negatives. We're talking about $4,000 of equipment. We're dealing with your basic 35mm Kodak Safety Film of the '50s. Is it true that they can get vinegar syndrome and "infect" the other negative and slides we have? via /r/photography https://ift.tt/2VjYFFs
