Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this, but I brought my Nikon d5300 camera into a camera repair store the other day after saying it had a "metering error" when it first started up with all the settings, and they found that the AE unit (auto exposure unit) is faulty and will need to be replaced. The cost-even with the $49 deposit I put on the repair, it will still cost me about $179.My question-is this about the right price to pay to fix the AE unit on a DSLR camera that is now about four years old? I shoot manual at all times now, but even if I wanted to shoot manual whenever I take a photo it will look way more underexposed than its intended settings to get a proper exposure. via /r/photography https://ift.tt/2ISres1
