I've been using my Nikon 28 1.8G and 85 1.8G lenses for almost a decade now. I've shot 80% of my stuff on the 85 and the remaining 20% on the 28 and some shitty 50. Been using the 28 a whole lot as of late.Recently when it came time to upgrade to a new body (D850) I started researching lenses and got a few, a couple of which are considered by many as being pinnacle lenses for Nikon systems (105 1.4 and 58 1.4 for example, along with a couple others), but ended up taking them back as they didn't quite wow me the way I was expecting them to. The rendering of the two lenses was just too pretty and too wedding/lifestyle/bokeh life for me if that makes sense. The only new recent addition which blew my mind and I kept was the Zeiss APO-Sonnar 135 2- would like to try some of the Otus and Milvus stuff next as I suspect I like the Zeiss rendering and sharpness.I was wanting something new for a change and had the money to get whatever I wanted, but ultimately have gone back to my two tried and true lenses. And I'm a full-time photographer actually, somehow having made it ten years by shooting almost exclusively with just the 85 (and sometimes the 28). Is it that my eye has gotten so used to these two focal lengths? Anyone else experience something similar? As much as I like the Zeiss 135, I'm not using it so often as it's very tight, but will keep it as the rendering blows me away.Fuelled my GAS and came away with... nothing. lol.Wouldn't mind messing with some wider lenses (21, 24, 25) or a 35 (never had one surprisingly). via /r/photography https://ift.tt/2n18goK
