How long do you usually keep the raws from a shoot?

I’m pretty new to the game so don’t be too harsh. I’m not sure what to do with the raws once I’m done editing the photos and exporting in JPG. Currently my computer hosts all the images I take with an exterior hard drive carrying the backup copies. But this seems unreasonable once I get more and more shoots. So what should I do with them?
