So i am a photographer that has only started taking client booked online. I received a query the other day which sounded legit, until i received a last email that discussed payment and the whole thing sounds real dodgy. I'm not going to name names, but here is the reply after i quoted this person LOWER THAN WHAT HE WANTS TO PAY ME."Thank you for the response. I am okay with the estimate everything sound good to me, I’m sure you can handle the photography aspect and do let me know if you are ready to take payment now with my credit card but I will need a little favor from you, there is this barrier bordering me that I will want you help me about. I am a UN military peacekeeper and right now I'm on a mission. I will be back home a day before the event and I am finding it difficult to pay the event planner that will handle the event because they don't have credit card facilities for payment and due to my present status beyond my reasonable control, It won’t be convenient for me to pay via other method that is why I want you to assist me. I have intended paying you an upfront payment of $2000 which you can add to $2550.00, so that you can have all the sum charged on my credit card ($4550) and you will have the $2550.00 transfer to the event planner. You will be charging my card for remaining balance upon completion of work. Be rest assured you will be charging everything on my credit card including the credit card charges.I will await now your positive response about this and I hope you well understand me by putting my will await now your positive response about this and I hope you well understand me by putting my condition into consideration. I am sorry if however it cause you inconvenience.Regards "What do you think, is it a scam? If so, how is this a scam if I'm getting paid more than i originally quoted, is it money laundering?...More importantly, has anyone else ever received an email query like this?Any feedback is much appreciated. via /r/photography https://ift.tt/3a3u5Hw
