Less a question about photography, more about computers.

When I load photos onto a computer, whether RAW or jpeg (I always put RAW in a different folder than jpeg), and I'm looking at my photo thumbnails (large icons), they're in sequential order. 001, 002, 003, etc.When I click on 001, I click the advance button, and I see 002, then 003, etc. So far, everything is going ok.But at random times, the computer will skip a random number of photos.For instance, I'll see 001, 002, 003, 052, 053, 075, 076, etc.Also, sometimes, if my folder is 001 through 100, it will stop advancing after a seemingly random photo. When I get to, say 066, the photos will no longer advance. The computer will act as if 066 is the last in the folder.Has anybody else experienced this?
