Parents are increasingly protective of their privacy and increasingly combative in response to perceived invasions.I don't believe that this man was in a winnable situation. Had he deferred and left, he may have been followed to his car and harassed, with his exit perceived as guilt. Had he ignored her, her outrage may have escalated.
