Is the purpose of setting your white balance so that1) the camera captures what our eyes seeor is it2) to get rid of color cast for a more neutral image that doesn't necessarily match what our eyes are seeingI ask this question because I've always thought that we correct our white balance settings in order to match what our eyes see because our eyes/brains are able to adjust to different lightings but the camera cannot. However, I've noticed that when I am shooting something under tungsten balanced light, the overall scene definitely looks "warm" to my eyes but when I set my camera's WB either with a white card or with custom temperature, it gets rid of the warmth for a more neutral look. But that's not what my eyes are seeing? via /r/photography https://ift.tt/37sIr2f
