Backdrop mystery

Hello photography, I have a fun random mystery I hope you can help with.My mother in law has this frame with people in it that only slightly knew each other, but live very far apart. We noticed that the backdrop AND the couch match, but the carpet is different, and we know it's not the same place.Picture in questionWhat I'm wondering is, do photographers buy the same backgrounds? Is there a specific company in the industry that provides these and mandates what props to use? Even down to the couch?I'm a curious person and enjoy learning random stuff like this and would love any help you can give!
