My Sony 28-70 f3.5-5.6 does not manually focus anymore

So, a few months back, my Sony 28-70 f3.5-5.6 had suffered some catastrophic damage, and I had sent it to the official sony service center in my city to get it repaired. Now as I have spent a significant amount of time with it, I have realised that the lens doesn't drop to f3.5 and it cannot focus manually anymore. It is stuck at auto mode. I have spent two years with the lens working around, it has been a great lens for me but now I ask- it is worth getting it properly fixed again, or should I get a new lens instead keeping that aside (beside those two problems, rest everything works fine besides a few missed shots while shooting in extremely poor lighting). If I buy a new lens, I am leaning towards either the Samyang or the Tamron 24mm f2.8 because I have rarely gone beyond 28mm ever on that lens. Also I had a canon rebel t3i (or the Eos 600D) so with an adapter, I am going to cover up with the 50 f1.8 via /r/photography https://ift.tt/3zpUwUB
