I purchased a Tamron 24-70 VC G1 (Nikon Mount) used off eBay and it showed issues with sharpness, even in the center of the frame. This is especially pronounced at f/2.8 and 70mm, and though it is much better at f/5.6, it doesn't come close in sharpness to the short end of my Nikon 70-200 f/4.
