I saw a post on cell phones and cameras on here, recently, which I read with interest. I agree with the sentiment of one response which stated that the average user, while only using their cell phones, is at least maintaining an interest in photography. That IS a good thing. One side-effect is that the younger generation (defined here as most people younger than me, naturally) do not often understand what goes into a great ILC photo. Invariably, upon seeing one of my more interesting or compelling photos, someone far younger than me says, "You must have a great camera." And that's it. I usually nod and smile, and say, "I do indeed." But, really, the concept of shot framing, etc., has all been reduced to a software option. In addition, the younger camera users might be called the "photoshop" generation. This was brought home to me recently more upon seeing some fantastic shots I took during family parties re-posted by a niece...with massive in-phone airbrushing, so that the photo itself looked mildly blurry - all personal imperfections invisible. via /r/photography http://bit.ly/2DMGK43
