Would You Ever Want To Use A Wide Angle Lens To Shoot Portraits?

Just asking since I've always heard that most photographers when taking portrait photos usually walk further away from the target, and use the optical zoom to get closer. I believe to avoid distortion. And with a wide angle lens you would have to walk closer to the target to get the same shot?Just asking cause the new S10 has changed their portrait mode from using the telephoto lens to the wide angle lens, and this seems like a huge mistake? via /r/photography https://ift.tt/2IL4hHt
