Hey, so I've been photographing for quite some time and have been thinking about taking it to the next step and do some commercial jobs next to my studies.I was wondering if you have any tips for me?Right now I can think of 2 types of jobs I can get here and that's either from stores (especially fastfood and clothing) or (new) brands that needs some photographs and a video or two.My uncle and his son owns 2 Oriental carpet galleries and I think I could start there, before reaching out to any outsiders and actually get some experience with this kind of job. I'd also love to hear other suggestions to how I can get more experience in this field without actually going out and making a fool of myself and smudge the reputation of freelance photographers. In case I contact my uncle, I'd also love to hear how you would set it up and plan the different type of shots. Here's some of the thoughts I have: - shots of the stores when the light is just perfect - a picture of my uncle and his son, to show that it's a local family driven business - pictures of what the stores looks like from the inside - close-ups of some of the products - close-ups with interesting compositions in case he wants ads and wants it to look catchy - some of the machinery he got as they also fix/wash carpents (probably also other stuff too) - him using some of the machinery or repairing a carpent - some of the carpents in actual homes so customers can get a sense of how it looksThen there could be a 1min vid with all these elements and 10sec videos with the products for instagram advertising or something similar. What do you guys think about this? Is it too much, too little, what's good, what's bad. Anything. It can also just be a link to an article that sums it all up. via /r/photography https://ift.tt/34AwAzA
