I’m interested in: 1. Sync with phone. 2. Photo sharing and collaboration (for example everyone on a trip shares their photos with each other in one place). Some thoughts: * I used to think #2 was directly related to storage because google photos acts as storage but also makes it easy to collaborate on albums, but I guess that doesn’t necessarily need to be the case. For example why not use a private Facebook group for vacation or team sports sharing (to answer my own question, because not everyone wants to be on Meta). * We started paying for the next tier up of google photos but now that’s nearing 100% capacity hence this investigation. * YouTube hosts unlimited video (I think?) so migrating hefty home video files from google photos to YouTube might help clear some storage space. * Getting an Amazon Prime account might be worth it for the unlimited storage (and comes with all the perks like shipping, Prime video, etc.) * I’m not afraid of local NAS and RAID hosting but am increasingly of the opinion this is better off as a cloud solution. * A family solution would be nice; google photos, iCloud, Amazon, all have family sharing. * I think sharing and collaborating are two different things. Any site is fine for sharing (your own photos), but not every site is good at collaborating (family, vacation, team all upload photos into albums). * Don’t need a professional showcase/portfolio solution.Your thoughts? via /r/photography https://ift.tt/Oo4kZBq
