GDPR Question....have to get rid of my portfolio?

Hey,wondering if anyone knows anything about this.Amongst other roles, one of my jobs at work is photography for school websites. It varies in how big of a role it is as sometimes I'll do none for months and then some months like this one, I'll have four schools. Basically I go to schools, wander around for three hours and get pictures of classes, kids learning, kids working, kids in the playground, kids in the library etc. I then send the school about 100 pictures and they choose maybe 5 to go on the website.Because of GDPR, my workplace are sending out a policy that says we'll completely delete the school's photos after 6 months, however they are able to purchase a usb stick with all the RAW files (I have my own issues with this but that's for another time).Basically what I'm wondering is....what do I do about a portfolio? Has anyone else run into an issue similar to this? Obviously should I need to present a portfolio, I can provide links to websites that are using my images but I don't always agree with the choices schools make of what to display and they aren't the pictures I'd necessarily put in a portfolio.Just wondering what my options are really - wether if I ever wanted a job in photography or something that my portfolio would help boost they'd be understanding about my lack of examples or wether I should be building a portfolio outside of work just to have something to show? Thanks. via /r/photography https://ift.tt/2H4uQ49
